Since the dawn of time, when our two-celled ancestors gathered around the campfires in their tiny caves and listened to the really old one-celled ancestors, stories have been an important part of our lives.
When you turn on the television, you'll never NOT hear a story. Of course sitcoms and dramas offer up stories, but so does the news. And documentaries. And when you're gathered around the watercooler at work, you're telling stories. As humans, we're wired to be attracted to stories.
So, as your brand considers a digital marketing approach that includes social media apps, consider the story. Often, we'll get talk to brands that want to create something social but they don't know where to start. After all, social isn't a switch that you flip. The best place to start is to think about a story and then work from there.
Here are some story ideas to get you started:
Tell the story of one person's first experience with your brand.
Tell the story of one person's 100th experience with your brand.
Tell the story as if your brand is a person in a unique situation.
Tell the story of two or more people who are encountering your brand in different ways.
Tell the story of two or more people who are doing something and your brand is along for the ride.
Tell the story of an unusual person who encounters your brand.
Tell a well-known story but add your brand in.
We are compelled to stories and they can be the springboards to help make our brands social.
So what do you think?
Reactions, responses or just feedback. Keep it short and sweet - you've got 100 words to do your thing.
